RKStanley Dr. Roderic K. Stanley holds a Ph.D. in solid state physics from Florida State University, where he studied the electronic properties of metals, including resistivity, hall effect, seebeck effect, and superconductivity. He spent several years working for Baker Tubular Services and NL McCullough in Houston, Texas, where he was involved with the development of magnetic and ultrasonic inspection techniques for oilfield tubulars. He holds four patents in electromagnetic inspection from this work. Also, he worked in the quality departments at Lone Star Steel and Quality Tubing, both ERW tubing mills, being involved in ISO 9001 implementation, and product development.

Professionally, he is a member of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the British Institute for Non-destructive Testing (BINDT). He serves as chairman for the American Petroleum Institute Resource Group for Coiled Tubulars, which includes both coiled line pipe (CLP) and coiled tubing (CT). He holds the rank of Fellow in ASNT, and is certified at Level III in MT, UT and ET.

He has over 60 published articles in NDE, and has co-authored one book with Dr. Don E, Bray. He has consulted for several law firms in tubular inspection matters, as well as various oil companies, and the Ocean Drilling Program.
